control faults.

Day1

Explanation of Petrol Emissions Test
- Relevance of the 4 Gases
- Operation of 2/3 way Catalysts
- Identify causes of failure
- Show a failure & why it has failed
- Highlight the errors that are easily made
- Outline causes of CAT failure
- Establish a routine to establish whether a CAT or

Control system is at fault

- Introduction to fault finding equipment
- Consolidate with a VI test & Pin-Point Fault

12.45pm - 1.15 pm Lunch Break

1.15 pm - 3.45pm

Explanation of Diesel Emissions Test

- Interpret the various types of smoke (colours)
- Identify causes of failure
- Investigate the properties of smoke
- Develop a diagnostic routine from the MOT failure
- Consolidate with a VI Test and pin-point fault
