Our products are delivered on pallets by a courier.

Products (Emissions Testers):
Normally this is caused by a couple of reasons. Either the shift key has been held down, damaged or the keyboard has dirt in it. You should clean the keyboard with some air or a cloth. If this doesn’t help, then try replacing the keyboard with another.
The emissions software will show a countdown notification on screen for when calibration is due.
Please make sure the trolley is still powered on at the mains but switched off by the white switch on the side of the trolley when not in use to allow the smoke head to charge overnight.

The CDSS6 derives engine speed by monitoring the alternator ripple voltage across the vehicle battery. There is a known limitation to the technology used and a range of vehicles will not respond, be unstable, inaccurate or unreadable. This is due to modern car charging being managed by electronic control systems. These systems drop or even turn off the charging system when it is not required. You can minimise the risk of this happening by loading the battery as much as possible, switching on the headlights, main beam, fog lights, spot lights, heated rear window, etc. However ensure that the interior fan is off as this can introduce interference. A great alternative is the DAD-C1.
Products (Midrise Scissor Lift):
The vehicle maybe too heavy. Crypton's midrise scissor lift will lift up to 3 tonnes. Has the vehicle been lowered with the wheels removed? Unload vehicle. If the scissor is close to flat, the lift will never raise. This is not a fault with the lift. You will need to jack up the vehicle and raise the lift with no weight.
Lower the lift to its lowest position. Remove the cover from the hydraulic unit. Check the oil level is between the upper and lower marking.
Contact your service partner.

Lower the lift to its lowest position. Remove the cover from the hydraulic unit. Switch off the main switch and disconnect from the power supply. Remove the valve and clean.
There could be a mechanical obstruction beneath the lift. Raise the lift and remove the object. It could be a defective fuse, so try replacing the 16amp time lag fuse. Finally, it could be a defective one way valve. Carry out emergency lowering and remove the vehicle. Remove the one way valve and clean it.

It could be a pressure relief valve. Lower the lift to its lowest position. Remove the cover from the hydraulic unit. Switch off the main switch and disconnect from the power supply. Remove the valve and clean.
It could be a defective one way valve. Lower the lift to its lowest position. Remove the valve and clean. If this does not resolve try swapping the valve from the other side to see if the problem moves. If it does then a new one way valve will be required. If not then it is likely to be the Electromagnetic valve (MV).
Products (VCI):
Your emissions tester PC should be on Windows 10.
Press the windows logo key at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Type winver in the open box and then select OK. The version will then be displayed.
If you have a Windows 7, you may be able to upgrade the operating system to Windows 10 instead of replacing it. To check if your current PC can be upgraded to Windows 10, please visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/ If your PC is older than Windows 7, you will have to replace it with a Windows 10 PC.
Windows ended the life of Windows 7 in January 2020. This means there is no longer any security support from Microsoft, which means Windows 7 PCs and any versions before are at risk of being hacked. We therefore highly recommend upgrading or replacing your PC to Windows 10.
Please call your Crypton Area Sales Manager or your local Crypton distributor.
Ensure to have the VCI connected to the extension cable that comes supplied with it, rest the VCI on the dashboard of the car and keep the window open. Do not place the VCI in the footwell as this can affect the signal.
