The DAD-C1 is a Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI). It is used with the existing CCP emissions range to deliver engine speed (RPM) and engine temperature into the MOT emissions test routine quickly and accurately from the J1962 16 pin EOBD socket.
The program for DAD-C1 also features complete EOBD reading capability for EOBD equipped vehicles, generally petrol vehicles from 2001 and diesel vehicles from 2004. This covers the standard EOBD modes and includes current powertrain diagnostic data, DTC read and clear, powertrain freeze frame data and oxygen sensor monitoring test results.
For vehicles without manual engine oil measurement access, the DAD-C1 is a great solution to make the process as painless as possible to ensure efficiency, accuracy and reliability of results.

What Windows software do I need to install the VCI software?
Your emissions tester PC should be on Windows 10 or 11.
How do I find out what Windows version my PC is on ?
Press the windows logo key at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Type winver in the open box and then select OK. The version will then be displayed.
My PC is on Windows 7 or before. What are my options?
If you have a Windows 7, you may be able to upgrade the operating system to Windows 11 instead of replacing it.
Why do I need a Windows 10 PC?
Windows ended the life of Windows 7 in January 2020 and Windows 10 in October 2025. This means there is no longer any security support from Microsoft, which means Windows 7 and 10 PCs and any versions before are at risk of being hacked. We therefore highly recommend upgrading or replacing your PC to Windows 11.
